Ingredients sourcing and supply specialist, Silbury, to exhibit at the Ice Cream Expo 2018

Silbury, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of specialist vegetable oil blends for ice cream, confectionery and bakery, will be exhibiting at the Ice Cream Expo 2018: 13-15 February at the Yorkshire Event Centre in Harrogate: Stand No: 20.

Silbury will be talking to visitors about their range of oils, fats and specialist ingredients, and how switching to a new vegetable oil blend could help them to reduce saturates.

Visitors will also be invited to sample ice cream, made with Silbury’s SIL-cream 90, SIL-cream 64 and SIL-cream 60 vegetable oil blends, to experience how each affects texture and mouth feel.

Gary Lewis, Silbury’s Director – Oils and Fats, explains…

“Understandably, manufacturers tend to stick to what they know when it comes to ice cream ingredients. But they could, as a result, be missing out on something that works just as well or better, offers an improved nutritional profile, or provides greater value for money.

“We will also be inviting visitors to ‘Challenge Silbury’. We pride ourselves on being able to source and supply almost any ingredient. So, if visitors to the Ice Cream Expo can’t find what they are looking for we will, with the support of our supply partners, do our very best to help.”

Headquartered in Banbury and with a turnover of £56m, Silbury supplies many of the UK’s largest food manufacturers and foodservice businesses. Customers range in size from small, artisan manufacturers wanting a single pallet, to national chains that require full container loads.

Silbury is able to offer flexibility and security of supply thanks, in part, to its investment in manufacturing and processing facilities. This has included the development of its own edible oils processing and blending plant in Brough, East Yorkshire.

Silbury’s Brough manufacturing facilities have been awarded the BRC AA excellence level classification of BRC issue 7 accreditation. This is in addition to their BRC Agent and Broker, Kosher, Halaal, RSPO Supply Chain and Organic accreditations. For more information, visit:
