Silbury, to exhibit for the first time at IFE

26th January 2016

Silbury, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of food ingredients, will be exhibiting for the first time at IFE – 19-22 March at Excel London: Stand No: N1701.

Widely recognised for its expertise in tomatoes and oils and fats, the Silbury team will be talking to IFE visitors about their new and broader range of sourcing and supply capability following their merger, in 2016, with pizza ingredients supplier, Portal Foods.

Gary Lewis, Silbury’s Director - Oils and Fats, explains…

“IFE is a fantastic opportunity to talk to customers about how we could meet their ingredients sourcing needs. Customer service is at the core of our business, and we pride ourselves on our ability to consistently source and supply ingredients of the absolute highest quality.

“Our key areas of expertise are oils and fats, tomatoes and pizza ingredients, but what sets us apart is our can do attitude and a determination to help if we can. And we intend to apply that approach to an even wider range of ingredients in the future.

“So, we invite food businesses to visit our stand at IFE and set us a challenge. If there’s an ingredient that they have found hard to find, either in quality or quantity, or they are simply looking for something new and different, come and talk – we are confident that we can help.”

Headquartered in Banbury and with a turnover of £45m, Silbury supplies many of the UK’s largest food manufacturers and foodservice businesses. Customers range in size from small, artisan manufacturers wanting a single pallet, to national chains who require full container loads.

Silbury is able to offer flexibility and security of supply thanks, in part, to its investment in manufacturing and processing facilities. This has included the development of its own edible oils processing and blending plant in Brough, East Yorkshire, and investment in a key Potuguese-based tomato product manufacturer. Ongoing investment in the business and the expansion of its product base is a key part of Silbury’s future growth strategy.

Silbury’s Brough manufacturing facilities have been awarded the BRC AA excellence level classification of BRC issue 7 accreditation. This is in addition to their BRC Agent and Broker, Kosher, Halaal, RSPO Supply Chain and Organic accreditations.
