Samworth Charity Challenge for Katharine House Hospice

Silbury participate in a 10-hour endurance race to support local charity, Katharine House Hospice

On Saturday 11th June 2022, two teams from Silbury participated in the Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge. This was a 10-hour endurance race, which saw some of the biggest food companies, the Royal Marines and even the Brownlee Brothers enter and compete for their chosen charities. This year our chosen charity was Katharine House Hospice; a local charity to Silbury and one that plays a vital role for the community. The Samworth Charity Challenge took part in the Brecon Beacons. This involved us hiking to the top of Pen y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales at 886m above sea level, on and off-road cycling and also canoeing across the Pontsticill Reservoir. A fantastic day was had by all and we were delighted to have raised £2,000 for Katharine House Hospice.
