Account Manager – Foodservice

The Company

Based in Banbury, Silbury are a leading supplier of food ingredients, with 40 years’ experience of supporting food manufacturers and food service businesses across the UK, Ireland and beyond. Renowned for our expertise in tomatoes, oils, fats, pizza sauces and toppings, we supply businesses of all sizes, from artisans, right through to well-known high street names and retail brands. We build long term partnerships with our customers, based on our ability to consistently source and supply ingredients of the highest quality.

Specific Responsibilities

New Business Development

Manage a portfolio of existing customers.

Drive and co-ordinate new and existing sales activity to maximise revenue with new and existing customers.

Agree, review, and maintain customer contracts to ensure cover and compliance.

Monitor and action Silbury’s credit control policy

Collection and analysis of information and provision of conclusions from sales figures and account information

Monitor, control and deliver the relevant budget as agreed with Commercial Controller

Continually review product margins and maintain an overall awareness of sales developments in the sector.

Provide clear sales information to the customer service team.

Agree stock parameters with OLCS to achieve required stock levels to meet customer requirements.

Develop and enrich close contact with key personnel at every level throughout the customer base.

General Account Management- Pricing, Logistics, Complaints, Samples, Reporting etc

Liaise with the Technical team to provide customer base with required information.

Liaise with colleagues in other teams to ensure all cross-sector opportunities are maximised.

General Responsibilities

Attend events, tradeshows and other industry functions as requested.

Comply with the requirements of the Company BRC quality system.

Operate within any agreed company trading policies.

Carry out other functions as requested by management in line with job role.

Competencies

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence at every level.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, meet deadlines and demonstrate high degrees of organisation.
  • Ability to present and analyse data.
  • Ability to set, maintain and monitor high standards whilst adopting a professional approach to recognising and exceeding customer expectation.
  • Understanding of needs and demands of Accounts and how to maximize opportunities.
  • Understanding of the Silbury product range and capabilities
  • Commercial Flair- seeing new opportunities utilising your entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen.
  • Cheerful character with Energy, Determination and Passion
